Riley has started grabbing almost everything within reach. He'll grab my hair when he's in my arms and he'll grab my shirt when he's on my shoulder. He grabs blankets and his clothes on his belly. There's a little toy attached to his bath tub, he had a firm grasp on that yesterday through the entire bath.
It's exhausting being a parent to a newborn and it's hard because he can't show appreciation or love. You just have to KNOW that he loves and depends on you. I can't wait until he can show it in his expression and actions. Abby told me last weekend that Eddie has just started reaching for her when she walks in the room, and that it makes your heart melt to see that he recognizes his mommy. As much as it's sad that they grow so fast, that's one thing that can't come soon enough.
Riley got all dressed up for his visit to great grandpa Bigard's last weekend. The little argyle sweater is so precious!
On the lookout for newborn friendly toys!! He has one that makes noise that's nice. We'd like something with a mirror. He's approaching the age where he'll be able to recognize himself in a mirror and entertain himself with it. He stares at the mirror above his swing, and I took him to the bathroom mirror the other day and he seemed fascinated with that.
He LOVES lights. There are some toys that put lights on the walls in scenes like stars, I think he'd absolutely love those. Lights, sounds and mirrors.
