Poor baby

Riley was in to see the pediatrician several weeks ago for his cold, and he's still really stuffed up. He hasn't been sleeping well and I think it's because he has such a hard time breathing. We use saline drops in his nose to break it up and suck it out, but he hates it and he screams every time. They said only to do it a couple times a day because it could dry his nose out even more, but he gets stuffed up so fast and he sounds so miserable.

I'm starting to get concerned about an allergy. I expected some other signs, like a rash or something, to accompany an allergy. But maybe his reaction is just a stuffy nose. He gets formula once or twice a day, maybe we should try a different brand? His next pediatrician visit isn't until Feb, we've been there twice already since he was born, should we take him in again?

Maybe it's just really dry, my nose dries up a lot too. We have the humidifier running all night in the bedroom, though it needs to get cleaned. I can't tell if it's helping or not.

  1. It is hard to see your baby suffer even if it's a stuffy nose. Try putting another humidifier in the living room. He may have allergies talk to your Dr. about it next time you are in. I am allergic to dust and animals and have a hard time in the winter. I do find that moist air helps. Try taking him out for a walk once in a while even in the cold. It will help open his air passages.
